Street shooting with the iPhone

I find the camera in the iPhone 5s to be an extraordinary instrument - it has the added benefit of being the camera I always have.
One thing I have really loved about the iPhone camera is that - like any tool - it changes the way I work as a visual artist. Mainly this impacts the way I compose. Looking through a viewfinder in a complicated DSLR I am distracted by innumerable settings - how is my depth of field, is the exposure working for this subject, what did I set the ISO to? I don't really see how the subject matter is filling the frame - I see it, but I am preoccupied with technical questions. With the iPhone, I pretty much see only the composition, so I make minute adjustments in the way structural and compositional elements interact with the frame. Using square format and one of the black and white filters heightens this focus even more.
